Sustainability and going green will continue in 2023 for both consumers and interior designers. One of the key trends is the continuing move to more sustainability and eco-friendly materials. Natural wood finishes are becoming more popular as people look for products that have less impact on our environment. Fast furniture is on its way out
For several years fast furniture, the type of modular self-build cheaper end of the market furniture that did not last was very popular. This type of furniture is becoming increasingly unpopular as people become more aware of how much unnecessary waste it generates and how it impacts the environment. * People are moving more towards longer lasting furniture made from sustainable sources, vintage furniture and upcycling their own furniture or furniture they have purchased second-hand.
Upcycling

Decorative trends
Wavy stripes are a fashion for the home that is taking off. The need for our homes to be a place of comfort and sanctuary is growing and therefore people lean towards colours, patterns and shapes they have a good emotional feel. Waves are often associated with the water and the sea which can stimulate calm feelings.
Paint company predictions
The leading paint company’s and experts such as Farrow & Ball & Little Greene Paint Company have announced their predications for interior colour trends for 2023. They suggest two developing themes which are very different but still connected*. We’re seeing bold shades based on the primary colours blue, red and yellow combined with neutral and natural tones representing a sense of calm.
Stylish home work space
Following the pandemic many of us continue to work from home either full or part time but no-one really wants it to look like they’re working from home. Some people are converting a room into a dedicated workspace and investing in new stylish home office/study furniture. But not everyone has the luxury of a dedicated home office room and we’re receiving more requests for hideaway or pack away offices. Whether it is a dedicated home office room or a sleek stylish hideaway office which can be disguised as a drink’s cabinet or an under stairs cupboard. Only follow the latest trends if they fit with your lifestyle and although trends give your home a present-day look, they can be expensive. Opting for a good design that does not date quickly is probably a better investment.
